This piece was written to explore the intertwining uncertainty of first-blooming passion,

and the later security of that same love, once it is explored and nurtured to blossom. I cannot help

but draw on my own recent experience of a deep and relatively long relationship and ponder on

the deep comfort of finding one another’s idyllic company in this vast world. Love is passionate,

yet calming, and powerful, yet vulnerable; each of these contradictions can lead to such

questioning as the text implores, and the music attempts to underscore.
